Vehicle Decals & Guidelines:
What You Need to Know Before You Apply
Vehicle decals are one of the most cost-effective ways to advertise your business on the move. Whether you’re branding a single van or a full fleet, decals offer high visibility with minimal investment. But before you start designing, there are a few key things to consider—from materials to DOT requirements.
Types of Vehicle Decals
✔ Vinyl Lettering – Ideal for business names, websites, and contact info.
✔ Logo Decals – Custom cut to showcase your brand clearly and professionally.
✔ Full-Panel Decals – Larger, more detailed graphics for rear or side panels.
✔ Window Graphics – Perforated vinyl allows for full-color prints without blocking visibility.
✔ Reflective Decals – Great for nighttime visibility and compliance.
✔ Magnetic Signs – Removable and reusable branding for flexible use.

DOT Compliance for Commercial Vehicles
If your vehicle is used for commercial purposes and over a certain weight, you may be required to display USDOT numbers. Here are basic requirements:
- Lettering must be at least 2″ tall
- Must be visible from at least 50 feet away
- Contrasting color to vehicle body
- Should include company name, USDOT number, and other state-specific info if required
